All The Leaves Are Brown, And The Sky Is Grey

… well, maybe not just yet. But, skip of a heartbeat and there goes July. So, I thought it might be nice to do a round up of what’s been going down.

It’s been a good summer, and it’s not even over yet. Matt, Neil and I went out to Hackney (East London) a few weeks back to help our friend Tizzy celebrate her birthday. Matt and I made an attempt to check out the annual Big Dance project events that take place throughout London and, although we were somewhat unsuccessful in that endeavour, I managed to get some shopping done on Oxford Street – where the shopping is equal parts extravaganza and blasphemous nightmare.

As for work, successfully got through two whole months without losing it … completely, anyway. Getting to know a few people at my office and have gone for the occasional Friday after-work drink.

Matt and I spent last weekend in Kent, where we wandered around Canterbury for a bit (the Cathedral, above) before making our way to Broadstairs to spend time with his folks, who are getting set to move into their new place in September. We also hung out with Matt’s brother Stephen and Stephen’s wife, Rachel, who are getting set for their first baby, due in a few weeks.

The rest of our time has either been spent at restaurants such as Wagamama eating chicken katsu curry, or in our local pub, The Marlborough, drinking pints and playing chess. Matt's sworn to beat Neil one of these days.

Middlesex 7’s rugby in Twickenham next weekend, the big one year anniversary for me and Matt the weekend after that (no definite plans yet, any suggestions?) and then a tentative trip to Greece with friends of ours from Vancouver.

No California (west coast) dreamin’ yet. Not with all these great things still left to do.
