No Kidding, Mistaken Identity
As I digress from that which has to do with my life, I thought it would be interesting to share with y'all what was on the news today.
In Indiana towards the end of April, two girls were in a car accident that killed one and horribly injured the other. The girl who survived suffered severe facial injuries and was not recognizable. She lay in a hospital bed for weeks while her parents created a blog, Laura Van Ryn, to update friends and family on her health status. Sadly, as the girl's condition improved the family came to discover that it wasn't their daughter but, in fact, the other family's daughter that had survived (see their blog post for May 31, 2006).
A tragic story of mistaken identity. Could you even imagine how mixed the survivor's family must've felt, let alone the family of the girl who was thought to have lived?
