Ode To Linden

As a tribute to my hockey fave on his birthday, here is a “special” piece of genuine Natingor prose. Happy birthday, #16.

Anaheim won? No reason to fret.
On the Canucks I still place my playoff bet -

With Ruutu and Bert going strong on the hunt
And Linden, traditional, out in front.

With points needed badly and three games to play
Canuck goal number 300 will come soon one day -

To cap the season and a great career
Then off to the golf course and that next pint of beer.

Important to mention all the good work you do:
Canuck Place, Hospice and Cops for Cancer too.

So here’s to you, Trev, on your big 3-6
From all your fans … and fellow former prairie hicks.
