April Fools
I would like to dedicate this special day to some of my most favourite guys (apart from my nephews, the boys of Team YEAB, and Matt – obviously).
This is all about … IT.

IT ... straight then, straight now, straight forever (from left): Raj Rai, Paul Chohan, Tyler Romano
The majority of the school year has been spent in “friendly” competition between IT and marketing. For outsiders to the BCIT BBA program (it’s a small world, after all) I suppose some explanation is in order. So, allow me to try and put it into terms that readers will likely understand.
If you’re originally from Regina and have attended a north end school, IT to marketing is like Campbell to O’Neill. They may think that they’re all that, but they really have no idea.
If you’re originally from Regina and have attended a south end school, get the hell off my blog. (Just kidding … sort of.)
If you’re an audio geek, IT to marketing is like Fanshawe to OIART. Everyone may know who they are, but when the shit comes down, it’s the quality of the people that matter.
And if you’re from Synovate, IT to marketing is like Chicago to Vancouver. All you get is verbal flatulence.
But before you take my (completely biased) view as gospel, allow me to present the other side. Although these boys are known to talk it up and although they may initially have given me one helluva hard time over moving to England, in the end I know they’ve got my back:
Raj, who’s promised to visit me next time he’s in London (having flown Air Canada, of course);
Paul, who is the best hockey game partner, ever (and along with his lovely wife is expecting his first child in October – congrats, big guy);
And yes, even Tyler, who is still somewhat in denial but seems happier that way … so I just let him be.
The beef between IT and marketing may have gotten annoying at times, but when the last class has been slept through and when the last final has been written – I’m sure that I’ll miss it.
So, here’s to IT … my April fools of 2006.
Thanks for the post and the nice send off. See you in a year ... in the executive section!
